Aversion is a noun with two main meanings:

1. a fixed, intense dislike; repugnance;

2. a person or thing that arouses this.

Now, let’s turn your attention to the verb “shudder.” 

Almost all verbs can act as adjectives

when their forms are changed as present participle or past participle.

Here, the verb shudder is changed as “shuddering,” a present participle,

and it describes the status of aversion—you can even find it as an adjective in your dictionary.
