I personally have a very interesting anecdote regarding “on the verge of.”

One day, at graduate school, I was in a hurry to go to classroom and I came across one of my friends.

Not knowing I had to take a class, she invited me to see a play titled

“Woman on the Verge of Nervous Breakdown.”

As soon as I heard her saying that, I really tried hard not to laugh aloud

since she looked exactly like that woman, panting hard with her hair tangled,

and being so in a hurry and panicked.

Fortunately, I suppressed my laughter and told her I had a class.

After then, whenever I happen to see or hear “on the verge of,” I remember what she looked that day.

개인적으로 저에겐 “on the verge of”에 관해서 아주 재미있는 일화가 있습니다.

대학원에 다닐 때, 급히 교실로 들어가려고 하는데 친구 하나를 만났습니다.

제가 수업을 들어야 한다는 걸 모르고 그녀는 저에게 “신경 쇠약 직전의 여자” 라는 제목의

연극을 보러 가자고 했습니다.
