Karina Yan Glasser가 쓴 “141번가 Vanderbeeker가족들” 이라는 책에서

“Oliver was in a pickle”이라는 문장을 처음 봤을 때,

나는 주저하지 않고  Kindle에서 기본적으로 제공되는 영어사전을 활성화 하려고

pickle이라는 단어를 터치했다.  내가 제일 먼저 알고 싶었던 건,

그 pickle이 우리가 먹는 그 피클이 맞는 것 인가였다.

Well, when I first found the word in a sentence, “Oliver was in a pickle.”,
on page 150 in a book titled, “The Vanderbeekers of 141^st Street,” written by Karina Yan Glasser,  
I didn’t hesitate to touch the word “pickle” to activate Kindle’s default dictionary.

The first thing I really wanted to know is the word pickle really meant the pickle which we eat.

 

 

음, 그 피클이 맞았다. 그렇다면, “be in a pickle”은 우리가 먹는 바로 그 피클 안에 있다는 의미?
