fire sale (also, fire-sale): 1. a sale of goods at reduced prices, especially

because the shop has been damaged by fire; 2. a sale of a business or part of a business at a low price

because it needs money or is bankrupt

“fire sale”에는 두 가지 뜻이 있습니다. 직역하면 “1. 특히, 화재로 손해를 본 가게의 상품 할인가격 판매; 

2.  자금이 필요하거나 파산한 기업체의 일부나 전부를 매각”이라는 의미입니다.

영한 사전을 찾아보시면 “1. 타다 남은 물건의 염가/떨이 판매, 화재로 처치 곤란해진 물품 할인 판매,

재고처분/재고정리 특매, 재고처분/재고정리 급매, 재고처분/재고정리 급매 처분;

2. 떨이 매각, 헐값 매각”의 의미로 제시되어 있습니다.
