Blame A for B: B를 A의 탓으로 돌리다/ B에 관한 책임을 A에게 뒤집어 씌우다

 

Blame A for B는 접할 기회가 많은 표현들 중 하나라고 생각되는데요….

 

그래서 가장 기본적인 for + 명사 형태부터 보시고

제가 강조하는 (앞으로도 계속 쭉 강조할 예정입니다) 전치사 + 동명사 형태,

즉, for + V-ing 형태도 보여드리겠습니다.

 

그럼 for + 명사 형태입니다.

Mark was stunned. Three days ago the families were blaming him for Gordy’s death,

It used to be popular to blame magazines and Victoria’s Secret ads for perpetuating

unattainable lifestyle and beauty standards for women.

과거에는 여성들이 따라가기 어려운 삶의 방식이나 미적인 기준을

계속 유지하는 것에 대한 책임을 잡지나 Victoria’s Secrets 광고에게

뒤집어 씌우곤 하는 것이 일반적이었다.
